Report: Broncos OC Adam Gase withdraws as Browns head coach candidate

Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase has been linked as a leading candidate for the Browns' head coach job for weeks. When Gase declined to be interviewed during the Broncos' playoff preparation, the Browns were left to consider and interview other candidates, while waiting for the Broncos to lose. The Broncos have kept winning -- all the way to Super Bowl XLVIII -- but the Browns no longer have to wait on Gase.
On Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported Gase thanked the Browns for their interest but informed them they should move on in their search.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported a Browns official said the team would not wait around to hire Gase.
Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reported last week that Gase was unlikely to accept an offer for the Browns job.
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported Gase will stick with his plan to not consider a head coach job until 2015, so he can spend another season growing as a coordinator and working with Peyton Manning.
The Browns reportedly have already been turned down by Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.
Cabot tweeted Tuesday that the Browns are believed to be planning second interviews with Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Bills offensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
