At least five MLB teams still have a chance to sign coveted Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, reports MLB.com's Doug Miller.

Teams have until Friday at 5 p.m. ET on Friday to sign and complete a physical with the 25-year-old right-hander.

According to numerous reports, the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks were viewed as finalists for Tanaka, who would likely command a six- or seven-year deal worth at least $20 million per season.
