Wisconsin extended head coach Gary Andersen's contract on Friday, keeping him at the school through the 2018 season, the school announced.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Andersen's new contract expires Jan. 31, 2019.
When Andersen was hired in December 2012, the school gave him a five-year contract worth $10 million, starting at $1.8 million per year with $100,000 annual raises.

In his first season with the school, Andersen led the Badgers to a 9-4 record and a Capital One Bowl berth. They lost 34-24 to South Carolina in that game.
