The Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers are the leading contenders among four or five teams interested in Korean pitcher Suk-min Yoon, according to the Korea JoongAng Daily.

Andrew Rickli of SportsReel Boston reports the Rangers are showing interest, especially following Derek Holland's surgery for a knee injury.

The 27-year-old right-hander, considered the Korean league's best pitcher, threw in a tryout for the Orioles and Giants on Saturday in California. Yoon reportedly was out to show MLB teams he is healthy amidst questions of his durability.

In nine seasons in Korea, Yoon has pitched 11 complete games and six shutouts in 1,129 innings, with an ERA of 3.19. He injured his Achilles' tendon and right shoulder in 2009 following his second season as a starter.

His career best -- 17-5 record with a 2.45 ERA and 178 strikeouts in 2011 -- earned him the league's Most Valuable Player award.
