Team USA Olympic general manager David Polie was hit in the face with a puck during the Minnesota Wild-Nashville Predators pregame skate Thursday and taken to a local hospital, reports Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

According to the report, Polie was in the tunnel area near the bench when he was hit by a puck off the stick of Predators defenseman Shea Weber.

Polie, who is also the executive vice president of hockey operations and general manager of the Predators, had a bloody nose, a black eye and was sent away on a stretcher but is expected to be fine and make the trip to Sochi for the Olympics this weekend.
