Kansas freshman center Joel Embiid could miss time with back and knee injuries, head coach Bill Self said.
The seventh-ranked Jayhawks have a shot at a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, and Self did not specify how much time Embiid would miss. The Jayhawks' next game is Saturday against TCU.
Embiid has a sprained knee and has been dealing with back trouble. He played only 18 minutes, scoring six points in Kansas' 85-82 overtime loss to Kansas State on Monday.
"I'm not going to make one excuse for him, because if you're out there, you have to [perform]," Self said, via ESPN.com. "But certainly he's going to get some time off."
