New York Jets free safety Ed Reed had $50,000 stolen from him Wednesday, shortly after withdrawing the cash from a Houston-area bank, according to a report Thursday by Craig Hlavaty of the Houston Chronicle.

Police continue to search for the person responsible for breaking the window of a car belonging to the nine-time Pro Bowler and taking a bag containing the cash. Police believe Reed was followed prior to the robbery, according to Hlavaty's report. It's unclear whether officials have any leads in the investigation.

After 10 seasons with the Ravens, he 35-year old Reed signed with the Texans before last season. He was cut by Houston in mid-November and signed with the Jets days later.
