A summons obtained by ESPN says Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice struck his fiancée with his hand, knocking her unconscious.

Rice and his fiancée were both arrested for simple assault Saturday at a casino in Atlantic City, N.J. A police report said Rice and the woman "struck each other with their hands."

A video posted online by celebrity gossip website TMZ showed Rice grabbing the woman and lifting her by her arms out of a casino's elevator and putting her on the ground.

Michael Diamondstein, Rice's attorney, told the Baltimore Sun that the video showed "the very end of what transpired."

"We just ask that the public remember what a high-character, good person Ray is, and that they reserve judgment until all facts are out," Diamondstein said.
