Sources close to LeBron James have denied reports that he will be starring in a sequel to Space Jam, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Deadline.com reported that Warner Bros. had hired the production company of Charlie and Willie Ebersol, sons of longtime NBC Sports chief Dick Ebersol, to produce and write the script for the sequel to Michael Jordan's 1996 children's film that featured an animated cast of Warner Bros. cartoons, led by Bugs Bunny.

The original film was an international success, creating numerous marketing spinoffs and grossing more than $230 million at box offices worldwide.
