Suspended Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez, MLBPA on good terms

Suspended New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is now in good standing with the Major League Players Association, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Rodriguez sued the union last month, claiming the union "completely abdicated its responsibility" to protect his rights. Rodriguez dropped the lawsuit against the union, MLB and Commissioner Bud Selig three weeks later.

"The page has been turned," MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said. "I'm glad we find ourselves (past it)."

Rodriguez is suspended for the entire 2014 season after dropping the appeal of his original 211-game suspension.

"Whether you're a player who played from the very first time you stepped on the field, or to any of the players that are going to come next, our membership is our membership,'' Clark said. "Alex is a member of the Players Association. He will serve the penalty that he has been given by the arbitrator."
