Free agent forward Royce White, who has yet to play in the NBA despite being drafted No. 16 overall by the Houston Rockets in 2012, is expected to sign a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings, according to a report from Sam Amick of USA Today.
The 22-year-old out of Iowa State has been battling a chronic anxiety disorder that includes a fear of flying. Because of the condition, White has been on the rosters for the Rockets and the Philadelphia 76ers but has yet to appear in a regular season game. Most recently, he played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets' NBDL affiliate.
Sacramento plays in Los Angeles against the Lakers on Friday, and then after home games vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans, the Kings embark on a seven-game road trip to the East Coast. The 6-foot-8 forward played 17 games for the Vipers, averaging 11.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
