The San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Anquan Boldin have agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $12 million that will keep Boldin off the open market.

The receiver was slated to enter free agency this offseason.

Boldin, 33, led the San Francisco with 85 receptions and 1,179 receiving yards last year. He started his career in Arizona, where he played seven years before playing three seasons in Baltimore. Boldin helped lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory over the 49ers in 2013.

The three-time Pro Bowler announced that he would be returning to the 49ers in a Twitter post on Monday.

49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said last month that the team’s main priority was to re-sign Boldin this offseason and that the contract negotiations were moving “in a positive direction.”
