The Brooklyn Nets will sign center Jason Collins to a second 10-day contract on Wednesday, reports Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Collins, 35, became the first openly gay athlete in North America's four major professional sports when he signed with the Nets last week, and his original 10-day contract expires on Tuesday.

Collins has appeared in four games since signing with the team. He has averaged 8.5 minutes per game and scored a total of three points and grabbed four rebounds.
