Report: Mississippi State, Dan Mullen agree to contract extension

Mississippi State has given head football coach Dan Mullen a contract extension that will keep him at the school through the 2017-2018 season, reports CBSSports.com's Jeremy Fowler.

Financial terms were not disclosed.  He had previously agreed to a four-year deal worth $10.6 million with a $1.4 million buyout in 2010 after the Bulldogs went 9-4 and scored a victory in the Gator Bowl. 

According to USA Today, Mullen received $2.7 million in total compensation last year.

Mullen has a 36-28 record in five seasons at the school. Before arriving in Starkville, Mullen was the offensive coordinator at Florida.
