Creighton senior Doug McDermott topped 3,000 career points with a three-pointer against Providence Saturday night.

He's played 139 games in his four years at Creighton, with a career average of 21.3 points per game. This season he's been above that, averaging 25.9 points per game.

A strong candidate for the National Player of the Year Award, McDermott has had an electric season with several impressive performances, including putting up 39 points against St. John's Jan. 28 and again on Feb. 16 against Villanova.
