Retired NFL linebacker Rolando McClain is planning a comeback just a year after abruptly retiring at the age of 23, reports Matt Zenitz of the Carroll County Times.

McClain was arrested last May for the third time in 17 months and said at the time it was in his "best interest to focus on getting my personal life together.”

The Oakland Raiders selected McClain with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft after an All-American season at Alabama but released him last April. He had 246 total tackles, one forced fumble and one interception in three seasons with the team.
