German-American soccer player Julian Green will play for the United States National Team going forward, and he may be joining the team for their upcoming friendly against Mexico in April.
18-year-old Green is currently a part of Bayern Munich's system, having scored 15 goals in 21 matches for their reserve team, in addition to making an appearance for the squad in a Champions League game.
Green was born to an American father and German mother in Tampa, Florida, but moved to Germany at two-years old.
Speculation that the much sought after Green had made the decision to join the American side began early on Tuesday with the news first being reported by ESPN's Taylor Twellman.
“We are absolutely thrilled that Julian Green has chosen to be a part of the U.S. National Team Programs!"
