Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane will miss "about three weeks" after being injured in Wednesday night's game against the St. Louis Blues, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said.

Kane suffered the injury in the second period of the Blackhawks 4-0 victory, when Blues left winger Brenden Morrow landed on Kane's left leg.

Kane fell to the ground, got up slowly and skated to the locker room to an examination.

"It was a freak play and can happen," Quenneville said, via NHL.com. "We've been fortunate most of the year [to not have injuries], so we'll deal with it."
