The NBA fined Sacramento Kings forward Reggie Evans $15,000 for elbowing New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis in the face during Monday's game, the league announced.

During the third quarter of the Kings 102-97 victory, Evans elbowed Davis leading to a flagrant-two foul and an automatic ejection. Evans responded to the crowd's cheering by raising his arms and smiling as he made his way to the tunnel.

The loss all but sealed the Pelicans' slim chances at making the playoffs.  They are 32-42, 12 games back of the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference with 10 games remaining in the regular season.
