Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo will likely be forced to sit out his club's Copa del Rey final against Barcelona after tests confirmed the Portuguese international has a muscle injury in his left leg in addition to his knee injury.

Ronaldo did not play in the second leg of Real Madrid's Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund this week due to a knee issue. He is expected to miss the club's La Liga match against Almeria this Saturday in addition to next Wednesday's Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid rival Barcelona.

Real Madrid currently trails Atlético Madrid by three points in La Liga standings with only six matches remaining. Barcelona is in second place, only a point behind Atlético Madrid.

This season, Ronaldo has scored 28 goals in La Liga competition and 14 goals in the UEFA Champions League, the latter a record-tying accomplishment. Despite the absence of Ronaldo in the second leg of Real Madrid's Champions League matchup with Dortmund, the Spanish club still advanced to the tournament's semifinal round with a 3-2 victory on aggregate.
