The Texas Rangers announced third baseman Adrian Beltre has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 9, with an injured left quadriceps muscle.

Beltre missed time due to the same injury in spring training earlier this season, and has been out of the team's lineup since Tuesday, according to CBSSports.com's Mike Axisa.

The Rangers have called up newly acquired right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi, who has a pitched 191.1 innings in the majors with a 4-16 record and a 5.94 ERA over his career.
