Report: No wrist fracture for Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia
According to the report, Pedroia's wrist is inflamed and he is not expected to be placed on the disabled list.
Red Sox manager John Farrell said Pedroia was injured in the ninth inning of a game on April 4 after a takeout slide by Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez. Pedroia played the next nine games before sitting out a 3-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday.
It is not known if Pedroia will join the team in Chicago, where the Red Sox start a three-game series against the White Sox on Tuesday.
Pedroia has 13 hits (three doubles, no home runs, one RBI) in 55 at-bats this season for the Red Sox, who have gotten off to a 5-8 start. SI.com STAFF: MLB Power Rankings: Dodgers edge surging Brewers for No. 1 spot
