Former Philadelphia Flyers coach Peter Laviolette will be behind the boards for Team USA at the upcoming IIHF World Championships in Belarus, USA Hockey announced today.

Laviolette served as an assistant on the U.S. Men's team at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and was previously head coach of the IIHF men's squad in 2004, when it captured a bronze medal, and 2005.

The first members of the U.S. roster for the event, which begins May 9, will be released on Tuesday afternoon.
