Major League Baseball fined Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell an undisclosed amount for comments he made about the replay system.

In last weekend's series against the New York Yankees, a missed call on Saturday and another call that went against the Red Sox on Sunday caused Farrell to make the comments about the replay so far this season.

On Saturday, Yankees infielder Dean Anna was ruled safe at second after a double, but Fox replays showed Anna lifting his right foot off second as Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts tagged Anna on his right hip. "It's hard to have any faith in the system," Farrell said after Boston’s 3-2 loss to the Yankees on Sunday.

Farrell was ejected in Sunday's game after arguing a call at first base that he felt was inconclusive.

“I'm not going to suspend him. It will be a fine,” MLB executive vice president Joe Torre said of Farrell, via the New York Daily News. “I'm sorry about what he said. What I try to do in whatever I do in this job that the commissioner has imported me to do, is basically never forget what it's like to be a player or a manager.

“Part of that never forgetting are the feelings, especially when you're dealing with Red Sox-Yankees games. There is nothing that is insignificant about anything that happens in those games,” Torre said.
