Mark Cuban: Bucks sale is a 'bargain'

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban thinks the new potential owners of the Milwaukee Bucks got off with a steal.

"I think they got off cheap," Cuban told reporters Thursday, according to ESPN.com. "I think that was a bargain. I think it's worth a lot more. I think it's worth a lot more than that. I think someone got a bargain. You can't look backwards. You've got to look forward. You don't value teams based off what happened in the past."

Longtime Bucks owner Herb Kohl announced on Wednesday a tentative deal to sell the Bucks to hedge-fund billionaires Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry. The deal subject to approval by the NBA and its board of governors.

''I wasn't going to live forever. I've approached a time in my life where I have to think about ... how do we think about succession,'' Kohl said at a press conference on Wednesday.

While admitting he was "bullish" on the NBA and its teams' values, Cuban maintained the deal was a bargain. Cuban bought the Mavericks for a then-record $285 million in 2000, and has been one of the league's most active owners for the past decade and a half.
