The University of Houston will allow its top two scorers, forwards TaShawn Thomas and Danuel House, to transfer, but have placed restrictions on what schools they will be allowed to join, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
Houston has told the players they will block any attempt to transfer to a school that is within the AAC, the state of Texas, or on the Cougars' schedule for the upcoming season. A lawyer for the players says they will be appealing the limitations, and also plan to apply for waivers allowing them to play in the 2014-'15 season.
Thomas is a junior who averaged 15.4 points and 8.1 rebounds, in addition to 2.7 blocks and 1.2 steals a game last season, while sophomore House contributed 13.6 points and 5.3 boards.

Both players told Goodman they decided to leave the program
when Kelvin Sampson was brought in to replace outgoing coach James Dickey. House and Thomas are expected to attract strong interest on the transfer market from larger programs.
