Jean Segura exited Saturday night’s game against the Cubs early, after teammate Ryan Braun accidentally hit him in the face with a bat while taking practice swings in the dugout.

While Segura does not have a concussion or a fracture, he will need plastic surgery to repair a deep gash near his right eye, according to Tom Haudricourt, Brewers beat writer for Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Because he doesn't have a concussion or fracture, Segura hopefully will not be out for too long, but there's currently no timetable for his return. Jeff Bianchi will fill in at shortstop.
