Former North Carolina State Wolfpack quarterback Pete Thomas will transfer to the University of Louisiana-Monroe, according to Brett McMurphy of ESPN.

Thomas made the decision to transfer after N.C. State coach Dave Doeren announced that the starting job would go to Jacoby Brissett, who transfered to the team from Florida. The Wolfpack also signed high-school senior Jalan McClendon, a highly touted prospect expected to eventually take the reins from Brissett.

Thomas started six games for the team last season and made appearances in three more, throwing for four touchdowns and nine interceptions in those games. He will graduate from N.C. State this spring and will be eligible to play for Louisiana-Monroe next season.
