The New York Yankees have listed two of their players as day-today after Jacoby Ellsbury was scratched from the lineup Tuesday with a hand injury, while suspended pitcher Michael Pineda left a simulated game after one inning with a lat strain, reports CBS Sports Mike Axisa.

Ellsbury had originally been slated to play in New York's game Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners but was later scratched due to pain in his hand. Manager Joe Girardi said the outfielder had undergone tests that assured there was no structural damage and was expected back in the lineup soon.

Pineda began to experience tightness in his right lat during a simulated start as part of his efforts to stay on schedule while serving a ten-game suspension for using a foreign substance to gain a better grip on the ball. He had been expected to make his first post-suspension start on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels, but Girardi says that plan is "probably in jeopardy," according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News.
