New York Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda has a Grade 1 strain of the teres major muscle on his right side and will miss the next three to four weeks, the team announced Tuesday.

The team said he will be seen by Dr. Chris Ahmad tomorrow in New York City and he will be shut down for the next 10 days before trying to throw again.

Pineda is currently suspended for 10 games for having pine tar on his neck during a game last week against the Boston Red Sox. His suspension is slated to end next Monday.

Pineda pulled himself out of a simulated game in Tampa after one inning and complained of soreness in a back muscle.
