Tampa Bay Lightning left winger Ryan Malone pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI and cocaine possession on Wednesday following his April 12 arrest in Tampa, Florida.

According to Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times, the Hillsborough County court on Wednesday dismissed a third charge -- driving with a suspended license -- for an April 8 traffic stop in Tampa. The 34-year-old, selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1999 NHL Draft, is currently being evaluated by a program for substance abuse and behavioral health. The program is headed up by the NHL and its players assocation.

A trial date has not been set for the DUI and cocaine charges, but if convicted, Malone could face jail time of five years and six months, respectively, according to the report.
