NBA, Clippers management to appoint CEO to supervise team
In light of Clippers owner Donald Sterling's lifetime ban from the NBA, the league announced Saturday that the NBA will work in conjunction with the Clippers to find a CEO to oversee the team's operations, according to the NBA's PR Twitter.
The official statement from the league states: "The NBA, in consultation with L.A. Clippers management, will be appointing a CEO to supervise the team's operations."
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million for the racist comments he made on an audio recording.
NBA executive vice president of communications Mike Bass released a statement, saying "The best way to ensure the stability of the team during this difficult situation is to move quickly and install a CEO to oversee the Clippers organization. The process of identifying that individual is underway."
In light of NBA announcement, I'm told longtime Clippers president Andy Roeser will continue with the team for now. CEO would oversee all.
