According to a report from the Los Angeles Times' Mike Bresnahan, North Carolina coach Roy Williams has been added to the short list of candidates who may be interviewed for the Lakers coaching position.

Williams was also approached by the Lakers in 2004 but turned down the position to stay with the Tar Heels.

Mike D'Antoni resigned last week after another disappointing season at the helm for the Lakers. In less than two seasons, D'Antoni was 67-87. This season, the injury-plagued Lakers went 27-55, their worst campaign in more than 50 years and the second-worst winning percentage in franchise history.
