The Golden State Warriors will ask the Chicago Bulls' front office for permission to interview their head coach Tom Thibodeau, according to SFGate.com's Rusty Simmons.

The Warriors have been connected to many names since they fired coach Mark Jackson earlier this week, including Steve Kerr, Stan Van Gundy, and Lionel Hollins.

Team owner Joe Lacob told Simmons that he did not want to rush the coaching search,

"We're going to take our time in this process," Lacob said. "We're going to interview a number of people. We have a very good idea of what we're interested in. But, to be sure and to do the appropriate job in looking for a coach, we will interview multiple people and make sure we're doing the right thing."

Lacob was a minority owner of the Celtics' when they won the 2008 NBA championship with Thibodeau as an assistant.
