Reds activate closer Aroldis Chapman off disabled list

Reds closer Aroldis Chapman, who hasn't pitched this season after he was hit in the face by a line drive in spring training, has been activated from the disabled list and will be available for Cincinnati in its home game against the Rockies on Saturday night, according to Bleacher Report's Scott Miller.

Chapman, 26, is a two-time All-Star and has 38 saves each of the last two seasons.

Chapman's rehab appearances were shaky, as he allowed eight runs on seven hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out five in the four appearances with a wild pitch.

Chapman went 4-5 with a 2.54 ERA last season in 68 appearances with 112 strikeouts and 29 walks.

Curtis Partch was sent to Triple-A to make room for Chapman on the 25-man roster. Partch didn't allow a run in 4 1/3 innings this season.
