Pacers' Evan Turner out Sunday for Game 1 vs. Heat

The Indiana Pacers' Evan Turner will miss Sunday's series opening game vs. the Heat because of an illness.

The Pacers tweeted the news approximately an hour before tipoff, saying the swingman is inactive with strep throat and that Solomon Jones will be on the active roster in his place for the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Pacers open the series with the first two games at home in Indiana, then play the next two in Miami before alternating cities if necessary for each of the three remaining games. The teams split their season series 2-2, with the home team winning every game. The Pacers wrapped up their seimfinal series against the Wizards with a Game 6 win on the road last Thursday.

Turner, 25, was sent in a deadline deal to the Pacers as part of an overall trade with the Philadelphia 76ers. LaVoy Allen also went to Indiana, with the Sixers receiving Danny Granger and a second round draft pick. On the season, Turner is averaging 14 points and 3.2 assists per game.
