The Cincinnati Reds have signed relief pitcher Carlos Marmol to a minor league contract, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Marmol began the year with the Miami Marlins, where he gave up 12 earned runs and 10 walks in 13.1 innings pitched before the team released him earlier this month.

The 31-year old former All-Star played eight seasons for the Chicago Cubs before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers midway through the 2013 season. Marmol has a lifetime ERA of 3.57 but has struggled with control issues throughout his career.
