Giants pitcher Matt Cain will likely get his first start in 10 days when he returns from a hamstring injury on Saturday against the Cardinals, according to multiple media reports.

Giants reporter Carl Steward for the Bay Area News Group had tweeted on Tuesday that Cain would throw a bullpen session on Wednesday and if all went well, he would be on the mound for Saturday's game in St. Louis. Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area also tweeted that the Giants expect him to be fine for Saturday.

CSN Bay Area reporter Amy Gutierrez tweeted that the three-time All-Star threw a full session on Wednesday, gave a thumbs up and said he feels good.

Cain suffered the injury on May 21 after catching Charlie Blackmon looking to end the third inning, showing some discomfort after he left the mound. The Giants ended up winning the game in Colorado 5-1.

San Francisco is now at the top of the NL West with a 33-19 record.
