Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran, currently rehabbing a bone spur in his right elbow, is expected to be in the lineup on Thursday when New York wraps up its series against Oakland, manager Joe Girardi said according to a tweet from Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The news was retweeted by the Yankees.

He's been on the 15-day DL since mid-May but has been playing in extended spring training games for the past week and had said recently that he's optimistic he'll return soon. He had tried to play through the injury after an MRI revealed the spur toward the beginning of May.

The 37-year-old eight-time All-Star is hitting .234 with five home runs in 33 games this season. He signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Yankees this offseason.
