Tigers' Miguel Cabrera leaves game with hamstring injury
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera left Sunday night's game against the Boston Red Sox with a leg injury with left hamstring tightness, the team said. He is listed as day-to-day.
Cabrera exited the game after a sixth-inning at-bat during which he singled to left field. According to the Detroit Free Press, Cabrera limped while running to first base. After manager Brad Ausmus and trainer Kevin Rand came out to check on Cabrera, he was taken out of the game with the score tied at 2-2. Don Kelly pinch ran for Cabrera.
The 31-year-old Cabrera was 2-for-3 before being removed from the game. So far this season, Cabrera is batting .326 with 11 homers, 51 RBI, and a .941 OPS.
