Report: Nuggets looking to trade No. 11 pick in NBA Draft

The Denver Nuggets are looking to trade their No. 11 pick in the June 26 draft, Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post reported citing a conversation with general manager Tim Connelly.

The Nuggets will look to trade the pick for a higher one or add a veteran to their roster of mostly young players who don't have much playoff experience. The last time Denver had a higher pick than No. 11 was when the team selected Carmelo Anthony out of Syracuse with the No. 3 pick in the 2003 draft.

According to Dempsey, a number of teams have multiple picks or an abundance of young talent they would be looking to unload. Some teams are even disappointed with their draft position even though they're picking higher than the Nuggets.

Connelly said in the report he expects there to be lots of trades in the week or two leading up to the draft.

"I don't think things will pick up until the next week or so. But after a relatively quiet trade deadline, I think we'll see a more active build-up to the draft. I would imagine we'll have a lot of trades."
