Rockets forward Chandler Parsons boldly predicted this week that Heat forward LeBron James will leave Miami this summer and possibly reunite with the Cavaliers franchise that drafted him No. 1 overall in 2003.

Speaking on Friday's Sportsnation broadcast, the 25-year-old swingman said the fact that James is likely going to finish the season short of his third NBA championship is reason enough for the four-time MVP to leave the Heat team he joined in 2010:

“I think if they would have won the championship, it would have been a different story and they would have come back to do it again …. I think he’s done all he can do there, and it’s time for him to move on."

The Heat are currently down 3-1 to the Spurs in the NBA Finals. No team in Finals history has come back to win the championship after being down 3-1. Game 5 is Sunday night in San Antonio.

Parsons, himself a restricted free agent, could also be on the move. The Rockets are one of three teams reportedly set to make a serious bid at landing Knicks franchise forward Carmelo Anthony this summer.  The two other clubs are the Heat and Bulls.

With the Cavs owners of the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, and the NBA landscape possibly shifting  -- specifically in the East -- if Anthony does in fact leave New York, Parsons may be on to something if he thinks James will have a better chance at contending over the long term if he returns to Cleveland to team with All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving and this year's No. 1 overall pick.

NBA free agency begins July 1.
