Jameis Winston's father says his son plans to play two more seasons
Jameis Winston surely would have been a top draft pick this year if he were eligible to declare after his redshirt freshman season. Instead, Winston must wait until at least after next season to turn pro. But according to AL.com, Winston's father Antonor says the Heisman-winning quarterback plans to graduate from Florida State in December 2015, meaning he will play two more seasons of football (and one more of baseball) for the Seminoles.
"We want Jameis to succeed with one more year in baseball and two more years in football," [his father] said. "We've never strayed from our plan that he is going to be in college until he gets that degree."MORE NCAAF COVERAGE: NCAA president Mark Emmert set to testify in Ed O’Bannon trial on Thursday
Winston, who was accepted into Stanford while at Hueytown, said his son changed his major from pre-med to an Engineering degree in the biomedical or mechanical field. He entered college with a boyhood goal of becoming a podiatrist.
