Inter Milan midfield star Luis Figo has suffered a fracture to the third metatarsal in his right foot, the club announced on Friday. The Portuguese Golden Ball winner has been unavailable for several games now, and tests made Friday revealed the reason behind this continuing pain.

"Considering the fracture is not too serious, there are no operations planned by the club's medical staff," it said on Inter's official Web site.

This certainly rules out Figo for Sunday's Milan derby and next Wednesday's Champions League match at home against Werder Bremen.

The 35-year-old is most probably playing his last season with the club, and perhaps his last season period. Last season there were already rumors he would quit. Figo has scored 10 goals for the Nerazzurri since joining in 2005 from Real Madrid.
