Tottenham calls dos Santos back for treatment

Ipswich Town is biting its collective fingernails over whether Tottenham will deem Mexican starlet Giovani dos Santos fit enough to complete his loan with the club.

The 19-year-old ex-Barcelona prospect has had an immediate impact in Suffolk since arriving on a borrowed basis in mid-March.

The injury bug bit soon after his dramatic debut against Burnley, however, and the latest setback has seen him sent back to north London from Mexico's training camp, having been deemed unfit for their latest round of qualifiers.

"Mexico didn't want to risk him for their game so he's going back to Tottenham to be assessed," Ipswich physio Matt Byard explained to the Tractor Boys' official Web site. "Obviously, if he's OK, we'd like to get him back training on Thursday or Friday and take it from there, but it will be all down to what Tottenham say."
