Chivas USA's 40-year-old defender Claudio Suarez is ready for action after being removed from the club's Disabled List. Suarez, who retired in the offseason then re-signed one day before the season kickoff, had a calf injury.

"I've been working very hard and look forward to the possibility of playing again," said Suarez. "I'm conscious that you have to fight for a spot, especially considering that my teammates have done a great job so far. But that's part of the healthy competition between us, which can only help our team improve."

Suarez, the Mexican national team's cap leader, has watched from the sidelines as Chivas USA has accumulated a league-high 23 points with a 7-1-2 record. --Soccer America
