Boca issues hands-off warning on Riquelme

Boca Juniors midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme has been linked with a move to Corinthians for the past few weeks as the Brazilian club is looking to pair the midfielder with Ronaldo.

Reports in South America last week claimed several Brazilian investors had flown to Buenos Aires to discuss Riquelme's transfer with Boca Juniors.

However, Boca Juniors manager Alfio Basile has rejected the possibility of losing Riquelme to Corinthians.

"The only player who has the doors closed here is Riquelme, and with a lock," Basile told Buenos Aires daily Clarin. "He still has one more year on his contract and he returned to Boca to end his career."
