Juventus striker Amauri is pleased with his side's winning start to the 2009-10 campaign, as it narrowly defeated Chievo on Sunday by a 1-0 score line.

"There are still some things to improve, but we are working on this," he told Italian daily La Repubblica. "I am personally happy with my seasonal debut: I'm fine physically and worked well during the summer, I hope to continue like this."

Meanwhile, the Brazilian-born hitman could soon potentially suit up for the Italian national team, as he claims his passport is due to arrive in the near future.

"It's coming, I hope to have it this week," he explained. "This is the last document needed to finish the bureaucratic process to obtain my Italian passport."

Amauri joined Juventus from Palermo in the summer of 2008, in a cash-plus-player exchange deal. He scored 12 league goals in his inaugural season in Turin.
