Toronto's Robinson out for season after collision

Toronto FC midfielder Carl Robinson likely will miss the rest of the regular season after breaking a facial bone in a collision in practice on Tuesday, the club said.

After a visit to a specialist on Wednesday, the Welsh native has decided to have surgery which will keep him out of action for six to eight weeks, though a return in the late rounds of the playoffs remains a slight possibility.

TFC is currently three points back of a playoff spot and will have a chance to earn some much-needed points on Saturday when it faces a struggling San Jose team at BMO Field. --Goal.com
