Eriksson rumored to be on way out at Notts County

Sven-Goran Eriksson was linked with a surprising exit from Notts County on Friday. Sky Sports News reports that the Magpies' director of football is rumored to be on his way out of Meadow Lane.

However, County manager Ian McParland claims that the rumors are completely without foundation.

"To be honest I've not heard anything," the Scotsman told Sky Sports. "I spoke to Sven on Wednesday. I had a chat with Sven on Wednesday and he's never mentioned anything to me, and I've certainly not heard anything to [substantiate] that rumor.

"Nothing surprises you in football at all. That's how people find it fascinating and how people make things up to make it fascinating and tell a few porkies. Who thought Sven would have been at Notts County as director of football? But it happened and that's football. That's why it's such a fantastic game."
